Information about Tourist (Group) Visa

The Group Visa is a Tourist visa that is issued to a group consisting of at least two people and is valid throughout national territory of China. The Group Visa will be issued as a single document for the whole group. The visa is valid for 30 days from the date of entry and must be used within 15 days from the date of issue. There are no fingerprint requirements and you do not need to send/hand in your original passport. The whole application is done online. Check out our FAQ for more information.

Requirements

  • It concerns a single entry trip
  • Your stay in China is shorter than 30 days
  • You travel with a minimum of two people
  • The whole group is on the same flight, both inbound and outbound
  • You do not leave within the next twelve days (see below info on urgent application)
  • See FAQ page for age requirements

Required documents (<1000 KB / 1 MB)

  • Copy ID page passport of all applicants (adults & children). Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after entry into China
  • You are not allowed to have covered the lowest bar of the passport because the copy will be scanned
  • Copy of travel ticket(s) with name(s) traveller(s)
  • Copy all hotel booking(s) or an invitation including address details and possibly a travel itinerary. In case of booking via Booking.com, please also provide the down payment of this hotel booking or a confirmation of the hotel itself. Are any of these not yet known, please e-mail us
  • Copy recent headshot (selfie in front of a white background)

Application & Process

  • You should submit your visa request between a year and 12 working days before the scheduled departure date (we advice to apply asap, preferably at least 25 days prior to departure)
    4 working days after the application you will hear whether the permission has been granted by the National Immigration Administration
  • Shipments with international DHL courier will take approx. 3 working days
  • Around 10-12 days prior to your trip you receive an official digital copy of the visa in your mailbox.
    The original visa and a copy are send to you by DHL courier so that they will also arrive approximately 10-12 days before your departure (different in case of urgent)
  • Keep both the copy and the original safe with your passport
  • On arrival the authorities at customs will take the copy
  • On departure, the authorities at customs will take the original document

Urgent application

  • You should submit your visa request at least 6 working days before the scheduled departure date
    1 working day after application you hear will whether the permission has been granted
  • Shipment with international courier DHL will take approx. 3 working days

Information about (Business) Visa on Arrival

The Business Visa on Arrival is valid only for arrival on Shanghai – Pudong International Airport and is issued on arrival. The exit visa is valid throughout national territory of China. The visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issue (and thus usually date of entry) and must be used within 15 days from the date of issue. There are no fingerprint requirements and you do not need to send/hand in your original passport. The whole application is done online. Check out our FAQ for more information.

Requirements

  • In case of a change of flight, you must notify us immediately!

Required documents

  • Colour photocopy of all passport pages (including the empty ones and the cover). (<10.000 KB / 10 MB) Passport must to be valid for at least 6 months after entry. For passports issued from 2015, it is mandatory to also provide copies of all pages of the former passport
  • You are not allowed to have covered the lowest bar of the passport because the copy will be scanned
  • Copy of travel ticket(s) with name(s) traveller(s) (<1000 KB / 1 MB)
  • Copy all hotel booking(s) or an invitation including address details and possibly a travel itinerary. In case of booking via Booking.com, please also provide the down payment of the booking, or a confirmation of the hotel itself. (<1000 KB / 1 MB) Is the hotel not yet known, please e-mail us
  • Copy of the business invitation letter by the company based in China (<1000 KB / 1 MB)
  • Copy recent headshot (selfie in front of white background) (<1000 KB / 1 MB)
  • On arrival they require a passport photo, do not forget to bring one!!!

Application & Process

  • You should submit your visa request to up to a year ahead and at least 10 days before the scheduled departure date
  • 4 working days after application you hear whether the permission has been granted
  • After approval by the National Immigration Administration, a digital copy of the visa will be send to you by e-mail. This copy needs to be colour printed. You need this copy to enter the country!
  • On arrival at the airport of Shanghai – Pudong International Airport , you will find a counter: “Visa on arrival”. Here you will have to show your passport, a print out of the official notification of the visa, the form for Visa on Arrival (can be found on the airport) filled out and a passport photo. The staff at the counter will issue your visa

Urgent application

  • You should submit your visa request at least 60 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) before the scheduled departure date.

Information in Case of Emergency

In case you lose your visa, or if you need to separate the group visa (when a person of the group cannot travel back with you on the same flight), please go to the local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau and contact the Immigration Administration (issuer visa) tel. (+86) 2168346939 immediately.

To separate or issue a new visa requires additional fees, which will have to be paid on site. The process takes about 5 working days.
