FAQ - General information e-Visa China

General questions

If you have already received the visa, you can see if your trip still fits the dates. We always take some margin into account. If the visa has not yet been sent, you must immediately inform us of the new travel dates. We will do our utmost best to change the visa for you. If this is not possible anymore, you will have to apply for a new visa.

The application process of our visa is done digitally and therefore it is called an e-visa. You do however receive a hard copy of the visa and therefore the end product is not different, but for several specifications like the validity period, which are all specified on our website. We use both terms on our website.

In this case you’ll have to alert the local authorities and apply for a visa extension, which cannot however surpass 30 days. You’ll have to present your application, directly or through an authorized agency at the Office for the Exit and Entry Administration of the local Public Security Bureau.

In this case you will need to separate the group visa. Please go to the local Exit-Entry Administration Bureau and contact the Port Visa Division (issuer visa) tel. (+86) 2168346939 immediately. To separate or issue a new visa requires additional fees, which will have to be paid on site. The process takes about 5 working days.

The different types of visas are valid for a certain amount of time. Usually it is not possible to prolong a visa. You will have to leave the country and apply for a new one. If you want to try to prolong it, you will have to contact the local authorities. Unfortunately we cannot help you with this.

An e-visa is an official document that gives you permission to travel to and travel within a country. The e-visa is an electronic alternative to the regular visa and is issued by the government of the country concerned. You can request an e-visa completely digitally, so you do not need to go to the embassy or send in your passport. e-Visa China sells e-visa, however we call it visa on our website.

Our visas gives you permission to travel to China (in case of the Business on Arrival visa only arrival on Shanghai). The government of China always retains the right to deny a holder of the visa access to the country without giving any reason. Fortunately, this is rare in practice.

In case of a TOURIST (GROUP) visa you can print the digital copy in black and white. You will also recieve a colour copy by DHL courier, together with your official visa. You must bring both the copy and the original document to customs in order to enter the country! In case of a BUSINESS VISA ON ARRIVAL you have to print the visa in colour! You must bring the colour copy to customs! You receive the official visa at the border on Pudong airport in Shanghai.

After you have submitted your visa application, you will be notified within 4 working days (sooner in case of urgent application) whether your application has been approved by the Chinese authorities. You will receive a digital copy of the visa and a Track and Trace number of the official document from us around 12 days prior to departure. You will receive the official documents by post 2 to 4 days later. You can track the status of your shipment at any time.
